Thanks to the Midlands Craft Club

Well we had a super day in Tullamore with the Midlands Craft Club. What a lovely bunch of talented girls. We hope to be heading back to Tullamore in the not so distant future and we may even stick around for a class if Sandra will have us.

The girls also gave us some good feedback on the website and some other ideas which we will be hopefully revealing soon.

Thanks for having us and if anyone is interested in going to the Midlands next crop - visit their blog here.

It has been a hectic week!

Just contact the shop and we will be happy to send them out.

This Saturday we will have a number of exciting children's workshops on including scrapbooking, glass painting and card making. Please phone the shop to put your chil'd name down to avoid disappointment as you know how busy the classes have been!! I will be putting up some of the pics from previous classes up this week.

Some exciting new products arrived this week for our scrappers and card makers.

They included the amazing Bind-It-All Machine and all the accessories to make your own beautiful albums and crafts.

The Bind-It-All Machine is the industry's newest and most innovative tool! The Bind-it-All is the one and only dual action machine that will punch and bind allowing you to create your own books, journals, calendars, and craft projects of any size! Be sure to check out our accessories that work hand-in-hand with this wonderful tool!

The New Dreamkuts Arrived Today!!!

This tool is the perfect page cutter! The Dreamkuts has two slots that allow you to cut over 100 different page sizes. The back slot is adjustable (depending on the size of your paper) and will make one center cut. The front slot (fixed at 12") will cut your paper into thirds! *Note: The Dreamkuts will cut up to one or two sheets of cardstock at a time. It will NOT cut chipboard.

They will be going up on the website over the next day or two and for more information visit http://www.binditall.com/. We have limited stock on both machines so first come first served and all that. Don't forget to ask for a free demonstration in store on any of our products.

I'll be in touch at the end of the week with some more product and workshop updates.

Next Workshops Date 7th June 2008

Well todays (Saturday 24th May) workshops were a great success and thanks to everybody who attended.

We started off with card making this morning and made two beautiful cards - a castle design and a free design where the children got to choose what they wanted to design. We learned about punching, stamping and embellishing the cards and the cars turned out fantastic. I will put up pics of the demo cards we used next week and a step by step guide on how we made them.

Felicia's jewellery making class followed with everybody creating a beautiful bracelet and set of earrings using a range of beading techniques. Everybody got to choose their own beads and left with some amazing designs.

Finally our workshops finished off with glass painting. We got the chance to design our very own mirrors and used the Marabu glass painters to create some funky designs. We added that very special touch to our mirrors at the end by sticking on some glass jewels and buttons.

Everybody had lots of fun and our next workshops are already filling up. Details are as follows.

NEXT WORKSHOP DATE - Saturday 7th June

Children's Card Making at 10AM. We will be designing twisted pyramid cards from a brand new range that is new and exclusive to The Crafty Alley Shop. (Details and pictures will go up during the week).

Adult Jewelery Making at 12PM. Details to follow.

Children's Ceramic Painting at 2pm. Paint your very own mug!

As usual please email me at cathy@craftyalley.com or ring the shop on 06430800 to put your name down for a workshop.

Finally, we still have a couple of places left at our drawing class on a Monday evening. The watercolour class which starts on Thursday the 5th June is almost full so make sure you put down your 50% deposit (€30) to secure your place. We are currently taking names for acrylic and oil painting which will also start in early June.

See you soon
