This is a collage of the album I received from Anne Healy as part of the Scrapzville swap. Anne is a fabulous crafter and also a member of our own craft club in the shop which meets the last Saturday of every month. The papers and embellishments Anne used were so pretty and I totally love it!

Thanks Anne!

The Sun is Shining!

Wow - what a totally gorgeous day. The sun is shining and the skies are blue. I am working from home today and I have been trying to get all the boring paperwork done this morning so I can spend the afternoon crafting. I have the two kids here and hubby is working so I am going to take them for a walk so hopefully Martin might sleep for a couple of hours and Caoimhe might do some crafting with me. She is like her Mam - happiest when she is up to her eyes with glue, paper and crafting!

I have got to finish Alyson's album off today / tomorrow and I am very excited about it as I have been EXTRA EXTRA creative on it - all will be revealed soon! I also want to put up slide shows of albums I have recieved from Felicia (My first ever), Ann Healy (My first Scrapzville swap partner) and Suzie my Christmas Scrapzville Swap Partner. The three albums are too gorgeous not to share with you all!

This is going to be a very busy week as I have changed the format of the monthly craft club I hold in the shop every month. I am going to keep that for a seperate post over on the shops blog!

Oh and other excitng news is after all that is that I have just signed up for my first swap over on Life on the Scrapbeach so hope to be meeting some other lovely crafters over there too.

Now - off for some good old fresh Kerry air (and to wear the kids out;-))

Isabeau Purse

Finally got this purse finished at The Crafty Knit and Stitchers Tuesday meeting last night. This was from a free pattern on http://www.ravelry.com/ and from the designer Sylvie Damey.

Anybody who knows me well - knows I love tiny little handbags and have been known to venture out  for a rare night on the town with my phone, keys, card, cash and lippy in a bag measuring not more than 3"x3". Any more space is just a waste....and hard to find things in after a couple of glasses of vino!
Although the original pattern is knit in a cotton / acrylic mix I could not resist knitting it up in my favourite Artesano Aran. It is so soft to touch and feels quite robust with the lace and moss sections. This was a lovely project to do as it was my first time knitting a lace pattern (front and back panels). The sides and bottoms were knit in a moss stitch and the edgings, a mixture of lace and stockinette. This was also knit using less than a skein! The other challenge which I liked about this pattern was that the joining up was done by single crochet. This gave a nice decorative effect and I'm sure using a contrasting colour would really make it stand out.
I originally lined the bag in a pretty sky blue floral cotton but was not happy with it so I removed the lining and I will reline it when I find a good complimentary fabric.
I think I will experiment with this pattern again in different yarns.
So on to the next project.........

Cathy

P.S. Got the button from the lovely Suzie who recently sent me some lovely bits and pieces as part of our mini book swap. Thanks Suzie - was looking for just the right btto :-)
